School Experience Programme
Working in partnership with the National College for Teaching and Leadership, we offer regular days throughout the year to visit Buile Hill through the School Experience Program. These are offered within the core secondary subjects – maths, chemistry, biology, physics, Modern Foreign Languages, English, history, geography, and computer science.
During your initial day visit you will spend time observing lessons, meeting staff and students, and gaining all the information you will need to take your first steps into the teaching profession. After the initial visit, if you are interested in applying to Consilium SCITT then you will be able to book additional follow up days. For the visit you will be accompanied by a member of staff at all times if you don’t have DBS check.
You will be able to apply for the School Experience Program if you hold 2:2 degree or alternatively you can apply as an undergraduate if you:
- are in your final year of studying for a degree, and
- are interested in teaching one of subjects offered, and
- are predicted at least a 2:2 degree

Previous participants in the School Experience Program at Buile Hill have said:
“This is a remarkable school, where the staff are extremely supportive of the students. A ‘you-can-do-it’ philosophy is encouraged among the students, which is crucial for increasing their confidence and raising their aspirations. The students should be proud of themselves and of their school. I was made to feel thoroughly welcome and valued throughout my entire visit.”
“It was great to meet professionals who love what they do!”
“Thanks to everybody whom I met. I can say that staff are very supportive and do the best for the children. I will take good memories with me.”
