Curriculum Overview

At Buile Hill Academy we strive to give every student access to a curriculum that is broad and ambitious offering all students the opportunity to engage with a wide range of academic and vocational disciplines.

Our curriculum is designed to be challenging and academically rigorous to enhance and develop our students' knowledge encouraging every individual to reach their maximum potential. . All students are catered for in each subject through careful planning, personalised provision and targeted academic support.

We expect our students to show a real commitment and passion for their learning through demonstrating a curiosity in their subjects and using each lesson as an opportunity to further themselves academically. All students are expected to demonstrate resilience and engage with feedback so that they learn from mistakes, review their progress and strive to improve every day.

Our teachers, as subject experts, ensure that the knowledge students acquire is the most up to date and relevant and curriculum leaders continually review and adapt our curriculum to meet the needs of our students.

We use our curriculum as a vehicle to enrich the lives of our students, raise aspirations and provide guidance for students to realise their future ambitions.

Our purpose is to ensure that students' learning is continually being developed and stretched to ensure that they are prepared to be able to progress into further education, employment or training when they have completed their 5-year journey at Buile Hill Academy.
